"Although Religious life, properly begins with the Novitiate, a fitting preparation for it requires an earlier stage of formation which we call Postulancy". During this period, the aspirant has the opportunity of getting to know our life with its values and demands, and of learning what he is undertaking in entering the Novitiate." (Ratio p.89)
